Clinical Applications Specialist
The Information Technology Department at Northern Light Medical Management has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Applications Specialist. The Clinical Applications Specialist will work closely with department managers and supervisors to ensure proper operation of Northern Light Medical Management’s Radiologic Technology platform.
This position follows a hybrid work model, with three (3) weeks of remote work followed by one (1) week on-site each month at our Hollywood, FL location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and IT departments to identify user needs and develop strategies for leveraging clinical applications to maximize efficiency in radiology services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for radiology application-related issues, providing tier-one and tier-two support to end-users; resolve problems or escalate as necessary.
- Conduct training sessions for clinical staff on new and existing radiology applications, ensuring proficient use of all software and tools.
- Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement; participate in the development and implementation of software updates and upgrades.
- Assist in the testing of new software features, functionalities, and enhancements to ensure they meet clinical requirements and standards.
- Work with vendors and IT to ensure that the applications support clinical protocols and comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- Maintain and update documentation for workflows, training materials, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance initiatives, and project teams to support ongoing process improvement and user satisfaction.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in radiology applications and inform hospital leadership of relevant advancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical radiology environment or healthcare IT; experience as a radiologic technologist or radiology nurse is a plus.
- Proficiency with radiology information systems (RIS), picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), and other relevant clinical software applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to train and support a diverse user group.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance and imaging standards.
- Certification from relevant professional organizations (e.g., ARRT, AHRA) is preferred.
- Experience with Merge and/or Solventum (mModal) strongly preferred
