Imaging Informatics Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Imaging Informatics Analyst will manage, maintain, and ensure the functionality of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) used in radiology departments. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting workflow and technical issues, providing technical and training support, ensuring data integrity, coordinating with radiology and clinical operations teams, and managing system updates for optimal performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Support daily PACS operations, including image workflow, routing, archiving, and study management
- Monitor imaging workflows to ensure studies move efficiently from modalities to PACS and reading workstations
- Assist in troubleshooting PACS-related issues, including image errors, study discrepancies, and interface delays
- Serve as a liaison between radiologists, clinical teams, and IT to resolve workflow or system-related issues
- Support user access management, system permissions, and basic security protocols
- Assist with PACS system maintenance, including updates, testing, and quality control check
- Help manage and validate integrations such as DICOM and HL7 interfaces
- Provide frontline support to end users, including radiologists and technologists, for PACS-related inquiries
- Assist with onboarding and training of new users on PACS workflows and systems
- Maintain documentation, logs, and tracking tools related to system performance and issue resolution
- Participate in workflow analysis and identify opportunities for operational and technical improvements
- Support system upgrades, vendor coordination, and implementation activities as needed
- Assist with audit readiness and ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Radiology workflows and systems
- Experience in Radiology department operations and Troubleshooting PACS and related technologies
- Strong skills in Technical Support, training, and resolving user-related system issue
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional clinical, medical and technical teams
- Associates degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field is preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining secure handling of sensitive data
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Previous experience in a hospital or radiology environment is a highly preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Visual acuity sufficient to interpret detailed diagnostic images
- Manual dexterity to operate computer systems and imaging software
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff
- Occasional movement throughout clinical and office environments
